Recovery is slow as your memory eventually fades more and more. Addictive drugs including cigarettes, stimulate a reward circuit in brains. These rewards trigger dopamine in the brain. Dopamine womens health shows recovery is difficult with drug induced changes that create these lasting memories in your brain. Doing drugs continuously or repeatedly change brain cells and make recovery all the more harder as these pleasure rewards in the brain are very strong. Addicts remain hypersensitive to the drugs and increase the risk of relapse. There is no strong evidence to say if one therapy works better for addicts than another.

Take Advantage Of Womens Health Fair In Your Area

A womens health fair can involve free clinics offering screenings and mamograms for breast cancer. Sexual problems can extend into other areas of life and cause depression and even physical ailments.

A large percentage of women will experience some type of sexual disorder over their lifetimes. In fact, studies show that about 43 percent of women will experience some sexual problem in their lifetimes.

The most common forms of sexual problems for women are anorgasmia (inability to orgasm), a loss of libido, and vaginal dryness. You can read about all of these issues on WomensSexualHealth.com.

Staying apprised of the latest news on sexual health can help you treat existing problems and prevent future problems. Remember to talk to your physician about any sexual problems, as they may indicate deeper physiological issues.

Womens Health Issues - Women and Depression

One of the most serious womens health issues has to do with women's mental health rather than physical health. Over their lifetime, women are two times as likely as men to suffer from depression and depression-related problems.

The depression gender gap has been attributed to biological and cultural factors. Women experience hormone fluctuations during menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause that can make them more susceptible to mood swings and sadness.

Culturally, women have a lower economic and social status than men, which can produce extraordinary stress that leads to depression. Women are also more likely to be overworked, handling domestic tasks as well as working outside the home.

Another factor is a history of sexual or physical abuse, which affects a significant percentage of women. Exercise, antidepressants, counseling, and social support can help offset women's risk of depression.

Review of Womens Health Magazine Site

Womens health magazine online is a great resource for beauty, weight loss, nutrition, and fitness tips. The site also addresses things like sexual health and fashion.

For example, the site currently has an article on what 100 calories looks like. The purpose of the article is to inform readers how to gauge their portion sizes.

For Halloween, they also have a feature on how to pick candy and treats with only 100 calories. In the human interest section, you'll find an article with an interview with First Lady Michelle Obama.

When you first see the Womens Health site (WomensHealthMag.com), you might think it's a bit cluttered. Other than that aesthetic issue, the site is packed with helpful, female-oriented information.

Breast Cancer Awareness Critical to Womens Health

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer in American women. As such, breast cancer awareness is critical to womens health.

The most important aspect of awareness is knowing and realizing personal risk factors. Age, race, family history, and environmental factors are a few of the biggest risks.

Preventive measures are also crucial. A low-fat diet rich in fruits and vegetables can prevent breast cancer, as can exercise.

One study showed that just 1.25-2.5 hours of brisk walking per week can reduce a woman's risk of breast cancer by 18 percent. Regular mammograms are also important for early detection purposes.

Government, Women's Health Specialists To Decide If Women Can Store Eggs For More Years

New government plans are underway for women to be able to store their frozen eggs for up to 55 years if doctors and women's health specialists raise no objections to the issue. Right now under current regulations the embryos can be stored only for a maximum of 10 years before they are destroyed. Extending this time will give many women hope such as young women who know they will become infertile, such as through cancer treatment. At least they will have the hope that later in life they can start a family if they want to. A spokesman for the Department of Health says that they expect this regulation would only apply to a very small number of women.

Ob/Gyn Women's Health News: Octuplet Birth

The latest Ob/Gyn women's health news on the California Octuplet birth is that the fertility doctor who helped her have 8 babies on top of the 6 she already had, will be facing a state investigation on his practices. The California Medical Board has not yet identified the name of the doctor responsible for implanting the 8 embryos. This is a time when women want answers to what is happening to their bodies and how they can fix them. The big picture is what hormones are going to work best for you during menopause. He also discusses depression, especially post-partum depression after having a baby and how your hormones are involved with these issues. It is all an inter-connective web. Your hormones are directly related to every part of your body.

Women must have vitamin D. The sun is the number one source for vitamin D but you don't want too much sun so you might consider taking a vitamin D supplement. You have to look at the whole picture in restoring your hormones to the right levels and it isn't easy. You have to take steps in the right direction to get your body back in balance with nature.

Journal of Women's Health Raises Questions About Risks of Birth Control

A journal of women's health raises many necessary questions that are long overdue considering risks of birth control and cardio health. After 50 years of birth control use little is known about the effects birth control pills have on women's heart. Big questions remain about the safety of their use and the elevated risk of cardiovascular disease. The January 20, edition of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology spells it all out very clear at this site, voices.washingtonpost.com. One reader commented that it is very unclear why it is dangerous for menopausal women to take supplemental estrogen but it is given freely to teens through 40 year olds via birth control pills. Good question. Wonder why nobody has ever brought this up before?

Find A Women's Health Care Group In Your Area

For women, our health needs are special and unique from that of a man. Going to your general practitioner or some other specialist just won't do it for getting you the proper care and guidance with certain tests, problems or issues that are specifically related to just the female anatomy. Finding a women's health care group in your city or town is very important to keep your health in check. Do a search online for one or look in your yellow pages to see if you can locate a good office. Each state varies in their trends and care practices for women so if you find a health care group on the Internet that is not in your state you will need to do that. For services that are unique to women it is important to seek the care you need in ob/gyn practices, regardless of what your age is.

Pregnancy Diet, Health Women's Choices Matter

When you are pregnant your health has got to be number one. I don't normally do this but it comes with some pretty good back-up. A women's health supplement called Pure Acai Berry that has been touted on Oprah by none other than Dr. Oz himself. This all natural supplement and the woman's testimony inspired me to order right away. I have no problem promoting this product myself before I have even tried it because it has been on Oprah and because it is all natural.

The Acai Berry comes from the Amazon and it is suppposed to be better for you than pomegranite, full of antioxidants, give you plenty of energy and increase your metabolism. Go to the blog at mariasdietblog.com and read all about how it changed her life. When is it major depression and when is it just the 'blues'? Women who have a previous history of depression are more likely to suffer postpartum problems. For the majority of women, at least 50 to 80%, a mild 'blue' feeling is normal. Anxiety and stress about being a new mother are related to this. A long lasting and severe depression is felt by 10 to 12% of women after giving birth. Feelings of hopelessness, guilt, poor appetite, difficulty concentrating and even suicidal thoughts are related to real postpartum depression. It can get even more serious with actual postpartum psychosis with paranoia and hallucinations as well as mood swings, rapid speech and confusion. Go to your doctor right away if you experience any of these symptoms.

Women's Heart Health - What You Need To Know

Heart attacks do not only happen to men. Here are some excellent tips for your overall body care. Some we are sure you have heard before but some you may not have tried yet. First, exercise of course. It is good to keep your body moving and in motion. Next, eat a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and more. If you smoke, please quit. Make it a New Year's resolution and stick to it. Practice good sleep habits. Try alternative therapies, they have gotten a bad rap but some really do work. If you have any kind of heart problems and have been prescribed a diuretic such as Lasix, then please do not forget to take it for even one day. My mother who has been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, where your heart does not pump out enough blood, did not take her diuretic for 3 or 4 days and wound up in the hospital. Her lungs filled with fluid and consequently they had to intubate her (stick a breathing tube down her throat) and medicate her for more than 24 hours. She pulled through this time but her doctor warned her that her diuretic "was her lifeline" and never to forget it again.

Childbirth Effect On Women's Health Longevity Key

Studies done on childbirth effect on women's health longevity is key. Believe it or not, many women are not aware that age does affect the chances of conceiving and the chance for birth defects to the baby plus complications during pregnancy.

Delaying the decision to have a baby is personal and complicated but women need to know their risks. In-vitro fertilization is expensive and does not always work. Later in life pregnancies increase the risk of diabetes in the mother and the need for a C-section. Your chances of having twins goes way up as does the risk of down syndrome and autism in the infant.
