For women, our health needs are special and unique from that of a man. Going to your general practitioner or some other specialist just won't do it for getting you the proper care and guidance with certain tests, problems or issues that are specifically related to just the female anatomy. Finding a women's health care group in your city or town is very important to keep your health in check. Do a search online for one or look in your yellow pages to see if you can locate a good office. Each state varies in their trends and care practices for women so if you find a health care group on the Internet that is not in your state you will need to do that. For services that are unique to women it is important to seek the care you need in ob/gyn practices, regardless of what your age is.

As far as female health issues are concerned, women, at least myself and most of the women that I know, friends, sister, mom, Aunt, etc. all prefer a woman doctor. Finding a women's health care group in your area specializing in OB/GYN healthcare is what you need to do first. There are offices in most all cities across the United States. Facing difficult and complicated issues like women's menstrual periods, pregnancy, birth, gynecological exams, hormone therapy and menopause are issues most women feel only a woman would understand. Sorry fellas, but if you haven't been there, you just don't know what it's like. I'm sure there are many great male OB/GYN's but for me and people I know, we will stick with a woman.
