FDA And Women's Health Risks

fda womens healthWhen it comes to the FDA and women's health issues, namely the recent Gardasil vaccine for young women and teenagers, I think there is still too many unanswered questions to consider it safe. Starting in August if you are a female trying to become a US citizen you are required to have the shot. The maker of Gardasil, a company in Australia, claims it will protect against cervical cancer in women but with 3 deaths reported so far and 1,637 "adverse reactions" (at last count) I say more research and studying needs to be done by the FDA and parents. Every woman should have a choice if they want to put this vaccine in their body or not. Do your own research.

FDA Women's Health And Birth Control

fda womens healthConcerning birth control, health officials, FDA and women's health, there was a controversial decision made in 2006 when they chose to make the morning-after pill legal. This is considered a plan B action in birth control. The Food and Drug Administration pushed to make it legal for adults to freely buy the birth contraceptive over the counter, with people under 18 having to have a prescription. This was a controversial decision for those that are pro-life. The pill must be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, in a two pill series. It does not work if a woman is already pregnant, it will just prevent the woman from ovulation of a fertilized egg.
