There are specialty doctors out there who's training is focused only on some of our more specific needs. These doctors are termed women's' health specialists. We know who they are but don't always think of them as specialists. A few specialists that pregnant women see, for example, is the OB/GYN for obstetrics and gynecology, and Perinatology for medical or biological issues that effect the birth of a child. Sometimes, it's good to go to the doctor, but it is even better to go to a doctor who specializes and received in depth training in that specific field that you having an issue with.

Question: Can The Health Of A Woman's Egg Change?

can the health of a womens egg changeMany of women have been told they need to give birth before they turn 40- years old. More specifically, once we hit the age of 30-years old it becomes harder to get pregnant and more of a risk to give birth. So, many women understandably ask the question: can the health of a woman's egg change? Why is it that it is so much of a health risk for us and our baby if we give birth after the age of 30? The truth is, yes, our eggs do change in quality as we get older and they change in quantity as we get older. Our egg quantity is also called our ovarian reserve and is simply the number of eggs we have in our ovaries. But, it is interesting to note that our egg quality doesn't just get worse with our increase in age. A woman's egg quality and quantity vary so much from individual to individual that age isn't the only determinant of the health of our eggs. Health, heredity, and other environmental factors can change the health of our eggs.

Rules For The Women's Health Clinic

womens health clinicAll of us women know, by now, that it is very important to keep up with our health. This goes for our heart health, our sexual health, our mental health, and our emotional health, among others. But, for those women, who may not necessarily have health insurance or simply cannot get in to see a primary physician, there is always the women's health clinic. The clinic is a place you can go to get a plethora of procedures done, be it a well woman exam, a breast exam, a pregnancy test or a simple check up. Clinics are usually funded by the state or the city so procedures may cost a little less if you are paying out of pocket. Not only that, but you generally don't have to make an appointment to be seen at the clinic. That is one of the main features that separates a clinic from a private office--clinics are walk-in. And it is important to note that making an appointment to be seen at the clinic does not give you priority. At the clinic, most walk-ins have priority! I learned that the hard way.

True Life Examples of How Divorce Affects Women's Health

how divorce affects womens healthIf any of you women have wondered how divorce affects women's health, well look no further. Without looking at actual scientific statistics about a woman's health after a divorce, the effects of a divorce are plain to the naked eye.

Let me put it to you in laymen's terms: 1) weight gain 2)insomnia 3) depression 4)loneliness and 5)anxiety.

These are all related to each other and of course these don't always happen to everybody. I will give an example of each of these. Weight gain happens from sitting at home alone eating boxes of donuts and cartons of ice cream because you are sad and lonely since your husband is no longer there. Everything you knew as your life is suddenly changed which creates some sense of anxiety. Because you have anxiety, you can't sleep. Since you can't sleep, you might as well eat. (One might say.) Since you are awake in the middle of the night, this gives you time to think about how you don't necessarily want to be in the bed alone. Now, these are just a couple of real life examples of how divorce affects women's health. It doesn't have to happen like this, but unfortunately it does sometimes.

Knowing of A Certain Health Infection: Womens Yeast

health infection womens yeastWe all know us women are supposed to go for our yearly well woman check ups at the doctor's office. These annual well woman exams are supposed to include procedures like breast exams, pap smears, pregnancy tests, and cervical cancer exams. Most women know that yeast infections are common and because they are common most women will just diagnose themselves. Once they are diagnosed, they will treat themselves with some sort of over-the-counter cream.

But what some women forget is that vaginal infections, however common, should still be discussed with a physician. The following is one of the most talked about health infection: women's yeast. Our vaginal fluids may turn into yeast if bacteria is allowed to accumulate. Instead of treating them with creams once they present themselves, it is best to use preventative measures.

Facts All Women Should Know About Womens Reproductive Health!

womens reproductive healthWomen's reproductive health is a very important topic that doesn't always get as much time spent on it as it needs. I mean, after all, without a proper working reproductive system, women would find it very difficult to produce life. I think it is significant to make sure women are aware of what is meant by the term "reproductive system".

The female reproductive system consists of the ovaries, the oviducts, the uterus, and the vagina. Some of the structures included in the function of this amazing system are the clitoris and the breasts. There are many events that take place because of these structures from the production of eggs and estrogen, to the contribution of sexual arousal, to the production of milk.

I'm sure the majority of women are aware of this fact but for those who are not, many of these events are cyclic. Our fertility cycles on its own every month and the time span of each of them varies from woman to woman. Usually, a cycle goes from beginning to end every 28 days or so. What's more amazing is most of this happens simultaneously!!
